Boise State University Scholarships for International Students

Boise State University Scholarships for International Students are currently open. The University provides the possibility of automatic scholarships and scholarships that require an application. The automatic scholarships include the Ridgeline, Summit, Foothills, and Transfer Treasure Scholarships. You’ll be guaranteed the award if you meet the requirements and deadlines. Other scholarships might require additional applications.

Established in 1932 by the Episcopal Church, Boise State University is a public research university located in Boise, Idaho, United States. The year 1934 was when it became an independent junior college, and since 1965, the University has been awarding baccalaureate and master’s degrees. The year 1969 was when it became a publicly-owned institution.

Boise State offers more than 100 graduate programs, which include those offered in the MBA as well as MAcc programs in the College of Business and Economics Master’s and PhD programs offered in the Colleges of Arts & Sciences, Engineering, and Education; MPA program in the School of Public Service; and the MPH program at the College of Health Sciences.

Automatic Scholarships

First-year students applying for admission to Boise State are defined as students with less than 14 post-secondary transferrable credits earned following high school. The scholarships listed below do not require further applications. However, eligibility requires the International Admissions Office to receive all the admissions requirements by the date specified in the announcement.

1. Foothills Scholarship

  • Value: $2,000 per year
  • Cumulative Unweighted GPA Required: 3.20 – 3.49
  • Length of Award: 4 years (8 semesters)
  • Fall Semester Deadline: December 15
  • Spring Semester Deadline: October 1

2. Ridgeline Scholarship

  • Value: $8,000 per year
  • Cumulative Unweighted GPA Required: 3.50 – 3.69
  • Length of Award: 4 years (8 semesters)
  • Fall Semester Deadline: December 15
  • Spring Semester Deadline: October 1

3. Summit Scholarship

  • Value: $11,000 per year
  • Cumulative Unweighted GPA Required: 3.70 – 4.00
  • Length of Award: 4 years (8 semesters)
  • Fall Semester Deadline: December 15
  • Spring Semester Deadline: October 1

Be aware that certain programs offered at Boise State are ineligible for these scholarships. Applicants must be in a qualified program to be considered. The ineligible fields include Nursing, Pre-Nursing, Radiological Science, Pre-Radiological Science, and self-supported and completely online programs.

Global Scholarships

The Center for Global Engagement offers the Global Distinction and Global Excellence Scholarships to new undergraduate students all over the world except the USA students. The scholarships require an additional application and are only available to undergraduate international students.

1. Global Excellence Award

  • Value: Up to $‭17,337.1‬0 per year
  • Cumulative Unweighted GPA Required: 3.50 – 4.00
  • Length of Award: 4 years (8 semesters)
  • Fall Semester Deadline: March 1 (11:59 pm Mountain Time)
  • Spring Semester Deadline: October 1 (11:59 pm Mountain Time)

2. Global Distinction Award

  • Value: Up to $‭8,668.55‬ per year
  • Cumulative Unweighted GPA Required: 3.00 – 3.49
  • Length of Award: 4 years (8 semesters)
  • Fall Semester Deadline: March 1 (11:59 pm Mountain Time)
  • Spring Semester Deadline: October 1 (11:59 pm Mountain Time)

Requirements and Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for a Global Scholarship award as a student, you must:

  • Be the first Boise State University undergraduate degree-seeking student.
  • Have a total GPA of 3.00 (Global Distinction Scholarship) or 3.50 (Global Excellence Scholarship).
  • Study in any major that is eligible. Nursing, Pre-Nursing, Pre-Radiology, and fully online and self-supported programs aren’t suitable for these awards.
  • Complete your admissions form, all required admissions documents, and an application for the Global Scholarship application to International Admissions before the deadline posted. The application for admission and the application fee must be submitted before students can submit the Global Scholarship application.
